Tips for Mowing Lawns in the Rain

By Julio Tome from Cloverdale Mowing

Now that lawn mowing season is finally here after a much longer than usual cold season, the next thing we probably have to worry about is rain… Awesome…

However, even if it rains, that doesn't necessarily mean we have to down tools for the day. I live in an area where we get a lot of rain, so I'd like to share some of the things I do when it rains and there are lawns to be mowed.

While there are a few things to keep in mind, some of the most useful ones are:

Airflow
This is one of the most important things to concentrate on. Making sure the underside of your lawn mower is clean allows grass to enter the bag more efficiently. This includes keeping your bag clean, too.

Plan the Direction of Your Mowing
This is especially useful if it's a large lawn, so the finish point is less conspicuous if you need to take a break due to the weather. This can also help for cleaning purposes when looking to remove clumps of grass and any other clutter that may have gathered when mowing.

I hope these tips help you as much as they've helped me over the years and I look forward to your feedback in the forum.
