Hello everyone, and welcome to another equipment review. I'm Ma, and currently one of the 2022 UAG members. This review will cover my honest opinion of two ECHO hedge and string trimmer models sent to me by ECHO: the HCS-3810 Hedge Trimmer and the SRM-3020T String Trimmer. There was no money exchange or benefits that were given for this review.

My Thoughts on the ECHO HCS-3810 Hedge Trimmer

The one-side blade, while to some people may seem like a bad idea, to others this is a huge plus. I personally love the trimmer. In our area, the most trimmed hedges are box woods and holly bushes. The side tray attached makes life a little easier to clear the small clipping without taking a rake or another tool to pull off the loose clippings. As you can see, the single side blade plus tray makes cutting a lot smoother and more detailed.

Now some of the cons are few, but there are some. Number one: It takes a little longer to trim a hedge with a single blade, versus a dual-sided blade because you have to go one way at a time. Unlike a dual-side, where you can go in either direction, the single side causes you to angle a little differently. Many companies prefer the double-side so that they can go both ways.

As I mentioned, I love the one side, to me that gives you more control over what is cut and what is not.

ECHO SRM-3020T String Trimmer Review

As you can see, the size of the ECHO SRM-3020T engine is slightly larger than your average string trimmer. While it has a bit extra weight, it does the job on high, thicker grass better than our ECHO SRM-225 trimmers. The current specs on this trimmer are the engine is a 30.5 cc, which to many would seem a little significant for a string trimmer, but I love it as it is perfect for overgrown yards that need that extra "push of power."

Currently, we are running a 500 Speed-Head, which is a lot better than the 450 since, for this size engine, it can keep up or match the output. Now I will be honest; the main downfall that I see is that this tool may be a little heavier for all-day work for those with back issues.

While the weight of this trimmer can be a little overwhelming atfirst, thanks to my vest harness, I can balance out the engine. While every product has its pros and cons it is the best in the lineup, far from what I have used. This has been Ma Lee with Dirty Deeds Works, and as we say here – If it is to be, it is up to me!
