Tactics To Drive Your Landscaping Business: Tips From The Pros – Part 1

June 14, 2017

As part of the ECHO UAG community we decided to ask some of our experts about what is their best tactic to drive your landscaping business. What are some things to remember, some financial advice and of course how to get customers. Here is what three of our expert members had to say.

Mario Saenz – Mario Saenz Landscaping Services

My best strategy for getting new business is really simple. Knocking on doors and one on one conversation. Having that relationship, talking to someone. I'm not really selling what I do. I'm selling myself and that's how I get new contracts.

Do Quality Job

Stan Genadek – Dirt Monkey University

Doing absolute phenomenal quality in the existing jobs you have because then every customer becomes your sales person. Then doing the soft touches. Continuing to go back to say, "Hey, how's the plants I installed for you six months ago doing? Hey, here's a tip coming up in late fall. We're having a dry season. Do an extra watering in the afternoons or in the late evenings or whatever." You don't care what you're saying to them. It doesn't make a difference. You just want to touch that customer so they remember who you are. Little things like you can do a before and after shot of their whatever project you did for them.

Then you can send that to them in a post card. Guess what happens with that? It gets stamped on to their refrigerator and then when they're having their parties and their neighbors are coming over and people ... They look and they go, "Oh. Before and after. Wow. That's really cool. Who did that?" That word of mouth will just grow and take over.
