Hello guys snow plowing is something i have not added to the services we offer yet but have been thinking about it. was wondering if you offer these services and how do you bid residential /commercial accounts? and what type of equipment do you use?

Great topic. For all customers we do contracts. I look at the lot and think of what I am worth. For most houses we charge $40 for each service or a bonus is $600 for unlimited service. Commercial I almost do same thing. I think of what I want paid and then multiply that number by 30 and place a season bid. I also add price for salt each time and add to bid. After 16 years total doing this business I think this way helps me best. The company I worked for always wanted to give lower bid to get more customers but if bad winter you could loss big like he did. The list of things we use are below.
Cub Cadet 24" 3X
Cub Cadet 24" 2X
Cub Cadet 28" 2X
Toro 721QZE 21"
Western MVP3
Western HTS
Western HTS
Boss V_Blade not sure model it's a 2001 model very old but still works

How many years does the $600 come out to be a better deal for the customer? That is like, 15 services at 40 a piece? I am a FL boy, so have no clue about snow!

Hello Coppercreek Im just taking a guess here but he is probably talking about $600.00 for the season here in Indiana seems we either get hit hard or very little.

I think I worded my question wrong. I meant to ask how often do people get the $600 unlimited and it actually works out to be cheaper for them that way based on the historical amount of snow plowing needed.

Wow! You guys are making a killing compared to here in Michigan. A typical 2 stall driveway here is about $300 for unlimited plowing through the season. Some higher, some lower. And some have a cap on services. Typically about 24 plows, or 75" of snow.

Wish we got enough snow for plowing. It melts in a couple days so we all just sit back and wait.

We offer these services for commercial and residential , Commercial are priced per event by the Sq' + marital "Salt,Brine"
Residential is a Seasonal Prepay account at a estimate of 18 service visit at $400.00 for the 18 we do tick off each event on account if they hit 16 events and we still have two months for winter we ask for them to place $200 on account if and only if there is money on standing account come spring We place that money on Spring services such as Clean ups and or mowing services zero money lost for either party

we do give them the option on the trigger but do recommend a trigger depth for some residential client's
Every residential client does get a five gallon bucket of Salt we will re fill when it is empty this is also deducted from the account
we charge $22 a bag we get a bag after pallet is broke down at roughly $4-$6 a bag depending on what kind of Salt we buy
We do charge a double rate if snow fall is over 4" all client's are given a 24 hour time table after the event to be cleared out

All commercial account's that we carry are at 2" Trigger
