Obviously Facebook does it all. Company Updates, Information, Photos, Videos. Every company needs a well maintained Facebook.

I also see a lot of landscapers using Instagram and YouTube nowadays. Landscaping involves a lot of visually satisfying images of manicured lawns and landscapes. So both YouTube and Instagram are good way to show off how great your jobs look.

Instagram is BOOMING with new users and communities nowadays. 100 Million new users in the last 4 months! But building a follower base there can be difficult...

We post a lot of our daily work to show what we do and how we do it. I've found that customers love to see your work and it helps.

We use Social Media to show everyone how we work, things we do, and little about our personal life so that they understand who they going to have working for them. Social Media has really helped us with customers because I always get asked when are you posting something about my lawn. So for a few I tell them well we have not done any extra work so no pictures yet so it brings business as they ask well give us mulch, trim a tree, edge the flower beds etc.... More money and more pictures and videos.

Facebook to show off work and post to a local yard sale site (where people post work sometimes) is the main one.

When I first started I used Facebook for all of my advertising. It worked great. From there word of mouth did the rest. Facebook also helps you connect with other guys in your area in the same business.

Facebook is great to get your message to the people in the communities where your service. FB buy sell groups, neighborhood watch groups, and if your good you can even get into the Private HOA groups. Ive been using FB for at least 4 yrs, and besides word of mouth its the only way i advertise as of now

We run a few things and have found Google and Facebook are the best avenues to get direct sales in our market areas
Facebook is great for everything and is very SEO drivin but many other social media platforms have been over looked in this conversation .
Google+ is great for SEO work posting daily Content with you SEO work inside of the post directing towards landing pages or directly to website content
Linkin is a great way to reach more of a Corporate side of things and is another SEO drivin Platform.
Nextdoor app Is SEO drivin as well and is free and one of the best things since slice bread
The SEO drivin platforms are the best for Marketing advertising and staying in the eye of your local market at a very low cost to our pockets and if done correctly can generate more than enough work ....
Instagram is not for Direct sales in our industry it is more of a branding aspect to our industry since 90% of us are just local and dont have multiple locations also this platform is not SEO drivn it is more of a hashtag drivin platform
Twitter is the same Hashtag drivin that is branding and not for small direct sales such as in our case local small direct sales But very nice for branding

Let me add that having a website has helped greatly. I have gotten a lot of business from people using google, as I am the only one locally taking advantage of having a website AND google business pages. It has been making a big difference!

Only ever used Facebook. We are now using a sale funnel and activating more social media platforms for Diyer, Business advice, how 2's, and more.

It's a free form of advertisement we never utilized mainly because we were too busy, but now we are trying to brand.... We'll see how it goes.

Any tips on what to use for recording youtube vids?

When it comes to youtube, the most important thing to remember is 'just film it'! Doesn't matter what you use, and people don't care what you shoot video with. Most any phone now can capture HD video if you adjust the settings. My most popular video with 120,000+ views was shot on two 7 year old cell phones standing on a $16 tripod.
