A Multi-Year Comparison of the ECHO PB-8010 and the STIHL BR-800 Backpack Blowers

By Brad Behr from Copper Creek Cuts

Hi guys, Brad here from Copper Creek Cuts, and today I wanted to give you a multi-year comparison of the ECHO PB-8010 and STIHL BR-800 backpack blowers.

I've had both of these units for a few years now, and I thought it'd be fun to have a catch up of what I think about them now.

As you can see in the video, I've got good things and bad things to say about both blowers.

ECHO PB-8010

  • This is definitely the best when it comes to outright power and performance

  • Cold starts aren't an issue, this blower is really reliable when starting up

  • Doesn't have as good a strap system as the STIHL

  • The tube can be cumbersome when it comes to storage

  • The STIHL engine seems smoother when it's on your back

  • There's less vibration on the STIHL and feels better to wear long-term

  • The collapsible tube feels better for everyday use

  • The side pull start is not the revolution many people say it is

  • Cold starts are less reliable than the ECHO blower

I hope this video helps, guys, and let me know what your preference is when it comes to backpack blowers!
