Hi guys, Brad here from Copper Creek Cuts, and today I wanted to give you a multi-year comparison of the ECHO PB-8010 and STIHL BR-800 backpack blowers.
I've had both of these units for a few years now, and I thought it'd be fun to have a catch up of what I think about them now.
As you can see in the video, I've got good things and bad things to say about both blowers.
Pros
This is definitely the best when it comes to outright power and performance
Cold starts aren't an issue, this blower is really reliable when starting up
Cons
Doesn't have as good a strap system as the STIHL
The tube can be cumbersome when it comes to storage
Pros
The STIHL engine seems smoother when it's on your back
There's less vibration on the STIHL and feels better to wear long-term
The collapsible tube feels better for everyday use
Cons
The side pull start is not the revolution many people say it is
Cold starts are less reliable than the ECHO blower
I hope this video helps, guys, and let me know what your preference is when it comes to backpack blowers!
