Are Cordless Products Commercially Viable?

By Daniel Hood from Hoods Cut Rite

As the industry continues to evolve, one of the biggest discussions is around cordless products, and where they fit in the commercial picture.

Do commercial lawn mowers, leaf blowers, trimmers, etc. have a place in the workspace of a professional grounds maintenance provider, or are they still just for homeowners?

I wanted to dig into this.

As you can see from my video, my takeaways when it comes to commercial-grade battery equipment is this.

  • Can I use cordless to replace my gas-powered equipment? It depends on the scope of work, and the effectiveness of the battery itself, based on application.

  • Are cordless products just for consumers? Not necessarily - there are definitely commercial applications where cordless beat out gas.

  • If you do a lot of hedge trimming, then cordless definitely becomes a viable option.

These, and other comparisons I make, do show that, contrary to what we might think, there is a place for cordless products in our everyday work. The decision really comes down to use cases.

I hope this video helps, and let me know what you feel about cordless vs gas!
