As part of the ECHO UAG community we decided to ask some of our experts about what is their #1 tip for someone if they wanted to start a landscaping business. What are some things to remember, some financial advice and of course how to get customers. Here is what three of our expert members had to say.
The best advice I'd give to a younger person starting off in this industry would be keep plugging away, don't give up. You might not get so many calls you want this one day or this one week or one month or whatever it may be, but just stay consistent.
I would buy self-propelled equipment from the beginning, because I started with Troy-Bilt push mowers, and it used to take me all day to do six jobs, and that really sucked, and now because of the advancement in self-propelled mowers and riders and stand on mowers, I can do up to 10 to 12 jobs by myself.
Don't buy the semi-pro stuff. Save your money and buy the pro stuff, and you'll thank yourself later.
