September 13, 2022

In this video

  • 2 landscaping pros discuss the pros and cons of the ECHO Pro Paddle Attachment

  • Differences between the Pro Paddle and the Pro Sweeper Attachment

  • Demo using the Pro Paddle Attachment with the ECHO PAS-2620

Hello everyone! I'm Jake The Lawn Kid, and today I want to bring you a video I shot with landscaping pro and fellow UAG member Mark Thomas during our visit to ECHO's HQ at Lake Zurich earlier this year.

I love my ECHO PAS-2620 and testing different attachments with it, and I was particularly interested in trying the Pro Paddle Attachment. After using it for a couple of months, I felt this tool is unfairly underrated in the market, and it actually has many different uses.

To dig deeper, I jumped Mark into my video to know his thoughts about this attachment and his opinion of this pro paddle versus the pro sweeper option for the PAS. Make sure to watch the full video before making any purchase decision, and leave your opinion in the comments below if you have any experience with the pro paddle attachment.

What’s up, everybody? I’m Jake the Lawn Kid—welcome back to yet another video here on the ECHO Means Business YouTube channel.

Guys, it’s been a minute since you heard from me, and today I’ve got a fun one for you. I finally had the chance to break out a very underrated attachment in my PAS combo system: the ECHO Pro Paddle.

I’ve had the PAS-2620 for a full season now and I’ve totally fallen in love with it. I use it for everything—trimming, edging—it’s a rock-solid unit. But one of the attachments I haven’t used much until now is the Pro Paddle. I think I only used it once for a video like a year and a half ago.

Before we get into this, I just want to say: this thing is an underrated gem in ECHO’s multi-tool lineup. There’s so much it can do—especially when it comes to clearing debris from specific areas—and that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about today.

Funny enough, I’m actually here at ECHO headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL, hanging out with some fellow influencers. We’ve been doing a bunch of fun collaborations while we’re here.

So for this video, I decided to link up with one of them—Mark Thomas Builder—and get his take on the Pro Paddle attachment.

I’m here with the man himself, Mark Thomas Builder. Go check out his channel—he’s got some great content. We’re hanging out today and talking all about the ECHO Pro Paddle.

Mark, I’ve been meaning to ask you—everyone around here says you’re the Pro Paddle guy. Is that true?

Mark Thomas: Yeah, I’ve definitely used it quite a bit. I actually made a video comparing the Pro Paddle to the Pro Sweep, and a lot of people ask me which one is better. Honestly, it depends on your personal preference and what you’re using it for.

In my video, I tested it in different scenarios—on mulch in the spring, and for snow in the winter. It really shines when you’re trying to clear stuff off grass or pavement without tearing anything up too much.

Like, right after winter—if you have a gravel driveway or crushed limestone—the snowplow usually throws all that rock into the lawn. Both the Pro Paddle and Pro Sweep can pick that stuff up without doing much damage to the grass.

Today, we’ve got a patch of acorns under this tree, and I think that’s a perfect way to show what this tool can do.

Jake (voiceover): Look at that—pulls everything right up.

Mark: Yeah, the rubber paddle’s a little more aggressive, especially on this kind of ground. But if your grass is really thick and dense, it won’t pull up as much dirt—it’s more forgiving. Both tools are great, but I personally prefer the Pro Paddle because you can do more with it.

Jake: 100% agree. I’ve used it to clear snow too, and honestly, I think it works better than a shovel in a lot of cases.

Mark: Yeah, same here.

Jake: So there you go, folks—you heard it here first. This is a really solid attachment, and Mark’s got way more experience with it than I do. I just had to bring him on to confirm what I already suspected: this thing is awesome.

Mark: Thanks for having me, Jake. It’s always fun to talk shop.

Jake: Appreciate you, man.

Alright guys, I’m Jake the Lawn Kid—thanks so much for watching. We’ll see you in the next one right here on YouTube. Later!
