Y'all, what's up y'all, it's GDR man and I am here with ECHO Means Business once again. Today I have the DHC-2800 battery-powered hedge trimmer by ECHO, which is 56 volt. This tool here, y'all, has blown me away.
Now for others, battery-powered is, you know, secondary, but I'm trying to really utilize and emphasize the use of battery power within my lawn arsenal just to lower my carbon footprint by reducing pollution. So this tool here is definitely aiding in that.
What I like about this battery-powered hedge trimmer is: it's lightweight — very lightweight. The power and performance of a gas hedge trimmer is there with this battery-powered hedge trimmer. The 180-degree double-reciprocating blade action with this machine is amazing, so your cuts are definitely precise and efficient. That goes with the three-edged sharpened blades for maximum efficiency while trimming the hedges.
Now you may wonder — why should you switch over or utilize it? Number one: you don’t have to worry about any maintenance. All you have to do is add a battery, get it going — and of course, make sure they’re charged. Always make sure they’re charged.
You have the rapid and the standardized charging ports. Now I usually use the rapid charge ports just because I want to get a quicker charge and I got to get back to doing what I'm doing. So the thing is — choose the rapid charger. That will definitely do you well, for sure.
Now for the weight — look at this — very, very lightweight. So that means it’s not going to be so burdensome to you, or it’s not going to tire you as much as the heavier gas-powered tools.
What I like about it as well is that these batteries — if you have the E56 volt series — you can interchange these. Now I have a mini that ECHO sent me and I utilize that battery and switch them out because they're both 56 volts. So you can interchange the batteries with this set series. Now if you had a 58, you're not going to be able to do that. But with the 56, you can definitely switch them out — which I like. Definitely.
And we're going to go ahead and give this baby a test run so I can show you how good it cuts. So let's get into it. Number one — safety first. Always have your gloves on for protection. And take off the sheath as such.
The speeds on here are high and low. There are two features on here — high and low speed — and you would press the button here. Make sure it’s activated. Press the button.
All right, so we're going to do a test run on these hedges here for just demonstration purposes. This is my good client and good friend — she lets me do a lot of videos on her property — so we're going to go ahead and do that. To reciprocate it, there's a trigger switch. You can turn and maneuver that way.
Now look at that nice cut. It wasn’t so tiresome. It didn’t feel like I'm overexerting myself. This hedge trimmer is definitely a great tool for any novice, intermediate landscaper, or manicurer — all the way to a professional.
