Word for Word Ep. 2: How to Make the Customer Wait for the Right Quote
August 2, 2018
Sometimes, we can get a little lost for words when it comes to our business and the customers we serve.
For example, we might need to increase prices but don't know how to raise the topic. Or we may need to let a customer go; price out a difficult project; or reply to competitor comparisons.
That's why I've started this new series, where I offer you a selection of potential situations, and the words/replies you can use.
In today's episode, I offer advice on how to make your customer wait for the right quote you want to give them, as opposed to having to give a (potentially) incorrect one on the spot.
Here are some quick tips:
-
Offer the benefits of taking the time to quote
-
Share your experience with quotes that haven't been sent electronically
-
Stress the importance of lot size, products, tools, etc.
With these at hand, and the tips I share in the video with regards what you can say to a customer, hopefully you'll feel more comfortable at sending your quote when you're ready.
Have a great season!
